The Jaguar XK120 is a definitive icon of post-war British motoring, a vehicle that cemented Jaguar’s reputation as a builder of high-performance sports cars. Initially conceived as a show car for the 1948 London Motor Show, its overwhelming public reception led Jaguar to put the car into full production, forever changing the company’s trajectory.
This 1951 Jaguar XK120 is presented in a classic red exterior with black leather interior . Power comes from the 3.4-liter inline-six engine with double overhead camshafts and twin side draft carburation, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is fitted with classic wire wheels, and its lightweight alloy bonnet, boot lid, and doors are a key feature of its construction.
The vehicle has been under single ownership since 1998. In preparation for the sale, this car was freshly serviced. The recent services included a fluids service, valve cover gasket replacement, new brakes, rebuilt carburetors, new batteries, fuel system service, and a new aluminum fuel tank.
The engine runs strong and exhibits excellent oil pressure in all operating ranges. The brake were just replaced and operate exactly as they should. Lights and switches work correctly but the windshield wipers are currently not operational.
While the convertible top and spare tire are absent, the side curtains, tonneau cover and tire changing tools are present and in nice condition.
With its recent mechanical service, this XK120 represents a well-preserved and authentic example of one of the most celebrated sports cars of its era.
